Sunday Stealing

The What's What Meme

What is on your bed right now?

At least one dog.

What’s your favorite word or phrase?

I hate to admit it, but given the number of times in a day that I say it to myself (rarely audibly), it's a 4-letter word that starts with f.

What is the best ice cream flavor?

I like so many, but I think my current favorite is probably butter pecan, an oldie but a goodie.

Did you wake up smiling this morning?

Probably not.

Is there something in your life you used to have, and now miss?

Paul and David.  Gilbert.  Peggy.  And Hydrox cookies.

What major company would you like to work for?

Hey, I'm retired.  I don't want to work for any major company.   But if I were in my 20s, I'd want to work for Yahoo or Google.

What time do you wake up on a typical morning?

Usually around 6, but I often move to the recliner and sleep another hour there, if Polly is wanting to cuddle some more.

What holiday makes you sad?

Since the kids died, all of them, at least at some point during the celebration, but Christmas is the most difficult.  However, having two grandchildren is a great antidote.

Where does a good night’s sleep rank on your priorities?

On my list of priorities, close to the top.  On my list of likelihoods, right at the bottom.

One song that makes you cry?

"In the Arms of the Angel," which Paul's wife and Marta sang at his memorial service.  Still makes me cry today.

How old was your mom when she had you?

24. A year older than I was when I had Jeri.

When is the last time you went to the beach?

I can't remember exactly.  It was the year we took my aunt Barb's ashes to scatter on Drake's Beach... maybe 5 years ago?

What is the most random object around you?

In this house there is nothing that isn't a random object!

What is your favorite sushi?

Spicy tuna.

What food do you find disgusting?

Anything Andrew Zimmerman would eat.  Anything served on Survivor.  And, to be truthful, an awful lot of the stuff that they make on things like Top Chef.

If you could have any type of dog in the world, what would it be?

If somehow I no longer had the three dogs that we do and had to start over and could pick any dog I wanted, it would probably be some little frou frou dog, that would be a lap dog like Polly, but cuter, and better behaved.

What was the last meal that you made for yourself?

I cook dinner every night, but tonight we ate leftovers, so that would be last night.   I think I made tostadas.

Is the hard drive on your computer full or getting close to being full?

Oh my yes!!!  I have to erase files at least every couple of weeks....and the worst part of it is that I have two external hard drives and store almost all of my files there, so I don't know what in the world is filling up my C drive so quickly!
